Brain Color FAQ

Q. Why did you utilize colors to develop your What Color Is Your Brain?® (WCIYB) personality concept?

A. Color is a universal language. It stimulates the brain and resonates in our thoughts. My Brain Color studies and workshop participants verify that it is easier to remember a color than a combination of letters or numbers.

Q. There are people who do not like to be labeled. Does giving them a color make them feel like they have been labeled?

A. My research shows, that neither adults nor children feel labeled. They have learned their Brain Colors blend like a rainbow, one color into the next. Their unique combination does not label them or make them feel like they have been put in a box.

Q. How can knowing your Brain Color help you better understand your personality?

A. Knowing your Brain Color will help you appreciate your individual strengths and perspective, and laugh at your idiosyncrasies. This understanding provides a sense of balance and self-confidence in your personal and professional life.

Q. Is the numerical distribution of your Brain Color Quiz score significant?

A. Definitely, the numerical distribution of your Brain Color Quiz score represents the range of your complementary or contrasting attributes and abilities. It also reveals the ease or difficulty you may have relating to and working with other people and their Brain Colors.

Q. Is it necessary to understand how other people see your Brain Colors?

A. Absolutely, at times it is significantly more important to understand another individual’s perspective than your own. How you see yourself may not be how others see you and your Brain Colors. This discrepancy often is the root of conflict and misunderstandings.

Q. Why does your Brain Color influence your attitude about others?

A. Your Brain Color influences your attitude about others because you have an enhanced understanding of other people’s behavior. Your knowledge clarifies why some people are a pain in your neck and others are a song in your heart. However, WCIYB is an explanation, not an excuse for inappropriate behavior.

Q. How can WCIYB eliminate power struggles and create harmony at work?

A. If the WCIYB approach is utilized in the workplace; people quickly recognize which Brain Color has to be in control and which needs to create harmony. This knowledge eliminates power struggles between co-workers. WCIYB also establishes ideal conditions in which each Brain Color will thrive and be more productive.

Q. How can WCIYB strengthen the relationship you have with your spouse, children, siblings and/or other family members?

A. WCIYB strengthens a relationship because you learn to appreciate your differences and what attracted you to your “soul mate,” so he or she does not become your “cell mate.” WCIYB enhances the relationships with your children, siblings and/or other family members during joyful and/or stressful situations, such as holiday celebrations, vacations and life cycle events.

Q. Why do children understand the Brain Color concept so quickly?

A. Children relate to and understand the Brain Color Concept quickly because it is easy and fun. Their Brain Colors knowledge becomes a game they immediately play at home and school.

Q. Can an individual change their Brain Color?

A. Yes, you can purposefully change your Brain Color. However, you must understand how to utilize each of your four Brain Colors. That knowledge is the foundation for easily resolving internal and external conflicts and consistently making prudent decisions.

Q. Do your Brain Colors change throughout life?

A. Yes, a variety of circumstances can motivate you to change your Brain Color throughout your life. There also are physiological changes that affect the lobes of your brain and influence your behavior, especially during childhood and adolescence.

Q. Can anyone learn to speak fluent Brain Color?

A. Adults and children quickly learn Brain Color as a Second Language (BCSL) and speak Brain Color fluently. Carl Jung said, “Colors are the mother tongue of the subconscious.” Perceptive listen skills are essential for WCIYB fluency.

Q. Are some Brain Colors more compatible with others?

A. Yes, two of the Brain Colors are more compatible with each other than the other two. This compatibility relates to the right and left side of the brain and an individual’s attributes and abilities.

Q. What is your connection and commitment to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF)?

A. I am connected and committed to increasing community awareness and education about diabetes and JDRF (the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation); because our son, Joshua, has Type I diabetes and my father had Type II diabetes. I also allocate 10% of the royalties from the sale of What Color Is Your Brain?® to JDRF.
